There are many festivals each year. It always depends on when you come. Contact me for specific information on festivals in the area you plan to visit.

Do you need a special permit to visit Kham and Amdo?

You don't need a special permit to visit the areas of Kham and Amdo that are not in the Tibetan Autonomous Region (TAR). Fortunately, many of the most authentic Tibetan cultural experiences can be found in the non-TAR areas. Contact me for more information.
