Accommodation

Nomad family near the Dzogchen monastery

On our tours we travel to very remote and rugged Tibetan areas and try to provide the best possible accommodation. We strive to invest our money in the local Tibetan economy and to provide a clean and comfortable room for every night of the tour where there are double or twin rooms with their own bathroom and shower.

However, guests must also realize that these accommodations may be simple and basic in comparison to the elegance of other 4 or 5 star hotels available in big cities like Beijing or Shanghai because of the nature of the environment and our distance from modern cities.

For a few of the nights of the tour we may get to uniquely taste and experience local culture and hospitality either in a Tibetan Homestay or in bedding provided by a remote monastery. In these cases, there may be 4, 5 or 6 people in one room and the facilities may be more organic and representative of native grass-roots lifestyle.
